The NXP MPX2010GP is a silicon gauge pressure sensor with a 0-10 kPa range and on-chip temperature compensation and calibration. It delivers a 25 mV full-scale differential output at 2.5 mV/kPa on a 10 Vdc supply, in a 4-pin Case 344B-01 package with a single pressure port.

Calibrated 0-10 kPa gauge pressure sensor with on-chip temperature compensation

The MPX2010GP belongs to NXP's MPX2010 series, where temperature compensation and calibration are performed on the die itself. Two samples therefore produce near-identical output, with no per-unit calibration step required.

  • 0-10 kPa measuring range in a gauge configuration with a single port.
  • 25 mV full-scale span (24-26 mV) and 2.5 mV/kPa sensitivity on a 10 Vdc supply.
  • On-chip temperature compensation and calibration across 0 to 85 °C.
  • ±1.0 %VFSS linearity with a 1.0 ms response time (10% to 90%).
  • Operating range -40 to +125 °C, Case 344B-01 package with 4 pins.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the GP suffix mean?
It denotes a Gauge Pressure configuration with a single port: the sensor measures applied pressure relative to ambient. DP variants have two ports for differential measurement, while AP variants measure absolute pressure.

Does it need external calibration?
Not for typical use. The MPX2010 series is calibrated and temperature-compensated on-chip from 0 to 85 °C, with offset within ±1.0 mV. A differential amplifier is required, however, since the full-scale output is only 25 mV.

How do I interface it to a microcontroller?
Feed the differential output into an instrumentation amplifier and from there into the MCU's ADC. Because the sensor runs on 10 Vdc while modern MCUs run at 3.3 V or 5 V, a separate supply rail and level scaling at the amplifier output are needed.

Application note: the 25 mV full-scale output needs an instrumentation amplifier with a gain of roughly 100-200 to use the full span of a 10-bit ADC. Avoid mechanical stress on the package when mounting, since strain transferred to the diaphragm introduces offset error.
