- ESP32 / ESP8266 (3.3 V logic): UART lines are compatible at 3.3 V logic; supply the module separately from a LiPo cell or a dedicated 4 V regulator, as the ESP's 3.3 V rail cannot source the peak current the SIM800L demands during transmission
- Raspberry Pi & other 3.3 V SBCs: UART-compatible; again, power the module from an independent supply
