The Rayex LEG-9 is a miniature electromechanical 1-channel relay (SPDT), designed for direct soldering onto Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs). It operates with a 9V DC Trigger Voltage and features contacts capable of handling a maximum load of 10A at 120V AC or 10A at 24V DC. As a bare component, it does not have an optocoupler and requires a driving circuit to be controlled by microcontrollers. It is the perfect choice for replacing worn relays in appliances or alarm systems running on 9V logic.
Reliable Device Control in a Miniature Size
The LEG-9 relay by Rayex Electronics safely bridges control circuits with higher-demand devices. Thanks to its miniature footprint, it is an ideal component for electronics designers and repair technicians.
- SPDT Contacts (Single Pole Double Throw): Provides wiring flexibility by offering both NO and NC contacts in the same 5-pin component.
- Low Coil Power Consumption: With a coil resistance of 225Ω and current of just 40mA, it is highly efficient for continuous operation.
- Compact Design: Dimensions of only 19.5 x 15.8 x 15mm, making it ideal for space-constrained circuit boards.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between NO and NC contacts?
An SPDT relay has a Common (COM) terminal. The NO (Normally Open) contact allows current to pass to the load ONLY when the relay is triggered (energized with 9V). The NC (Normally Closed) contact allows current to pass continuously and interrupts it when the relay is triggered.
Can I control it directly from an Arduino (5V) or ESP32 (3.3V)?
Not directly. The coil trigger voltage is 9V DC. You will need an external 9V power source and a transistor-based driving circuit (e.g., using an NPN BC547 or 2N2222) to switch the relay using your microcontroller.

The price is for one (1) piece.
Warning: Handling mains voltages (AC) is dangerous and can be fatal. Connections must be made with the equipment unplugged, and it is highly recommended that they be performed by a licensed/qualified electrician.
