The Rayex LEG-5F is a highly reliable electromechanical PCB Relay (SPDT 5-pin). It operates with a 5V DC trigger voltage and its contacts can handle a robust maximum load of 15A at 240V AC or 24V DC. As a bare component rather than a module, it does not feature an Optocoupler. It requires an external driving circuit (such as a transistor) to safely interface with and protect microcontrollers like Arduino or ESP.
Safe Control of High Voltage Devices
The RAYEX LEG-5F electromechanical relay acts as the perfect bridge between sensitive control circuits (like 5V microcontrollers) and heavy mains loads. It allows you to safely control 220V devices by providing galvanic isolation between the power circuit and your logic circuit.

Q: What is the difference between NO and NC?
A: The NO (Normally Open) contact lets current flow only when the relay is energized. Conversely, the NC (Normally Closed) contact allows current to flow constantly and breaks the circuit when the relay is energized.
Q: Can I control it directly with an Arduino or ESP32 pin?
A: Because it is a bare component without an Optocoupler, the relay coil draws more current than a standard microcontroller pin can provide. You need to use a transistor (e.g., 2N2222) and a flyback diode to drive it safely. For a 3.3V ESP32, a level shifter might also be necessary.
