3.3V/5V Breadboard Power Supply Module
The 3.3V/5V Breadboard Power Supply Module (SKU: BRE900) is a compact, plug-in power solution designed specifically for MB102 full-size breadboards. It accepts a wide DC input (6.5V–12V) via a DC barrel jack and delivers a clean, regulated output of either 3.3V or 5V — selectable independently for each power rail — at up to 700mA. If you've ever struggled with powering your breadboard prototype from an Arduino's 5V pin or a messy bench supply, this module solves the problem cleanly and safely.
Key Features
- Dual Voltage Output (3.3V & 5V): Each breadboard power rail can be set independently — mix 3.3V and 5V on the same board to power both 5V Arduinos and 3.3V modules simultaneously.
- Wide Input Range (DC 6.5–12V): Works with standard 9V or 12V DC wall adapters you likely already own, keeping project costs low.
- Up to 700mA Output Current: Sufficient to power microcontrollers, sensors, and small actuators during prototyping without browning out.
- MB102 Plug-in Form Factor: Slides directly onto the power rails of a standard MB102 breadboard — no wires, no soldering required for the power connection.
- On/Off Switch: Built-in slide switch lets you cut power to the board without unplugging the adapter, protecting sensitive components during wiring changes.
- USB Power Input: Many variants of this module also accept power via USB — check your unit for the USB port.
Compatibility
- Arduino UNO / Nano (5V): Set the output jumper to 5V — the module's 700mA rating comfortably covers an Arduino plus several sensors and LEDs.
- ESP32 / ESP8266 / Raspberry Pi Pico (3.3V): Set the output jumper to 3.3V to power 3.3V logic devices safely without level-shifting concerns.
- MB102 Breadboard: Physically compatible with the standard 830-tie-point MB102 breadboard; pins align with the breadboard's power rail headers.
Typical Applications
- Arduino sensor prototyping: Power an Arduino Nano and multiple I²C sensors from a single 9V adapter without stressing the Arduino's onboard regulator.
- ESP32 / ESP8266 Wi-Fi projects: Provide stable 3.3V at up to 700mA — critical for ESP modules that spike current during Wi-Fi transmission.
- Mixed-voltage circuits: Use one rail at 5V for relays or servos and the other at 3.3V for logic-level sensors on the same breadboard.
- Classroom & maker workshops: Lightweight (13g), safe, and foolproof — ideal for teaching electronics without high-voltage bench supplies.
- Rapid prototyping: Skip the rat's nest of wiring from a lab supply; plug in, set the jumper, and start building in seconds.

FAQ
Q: Can I use a 9V battery instead of a wall adapter?
A: Yes — a 9V battery falls within the 6.5V–12V input range, making this module convenient for portable, battery-powered prototypes. Keep in mind that 700mA draw will drain a standard 9V alkaline battery quickly.
Q: Can both rails output different voltages at the same time?
A: Yes. The module has two independent output sections with separate jumpers, so you can set one rail to 3.3V and the other to 5V simultaneously — a key advantage over simple linear regulators.
⚠ Warning: Do not exceed the 6.5V–12V input range. Applying higher voltages may permanently damage the module. Ensure total current draw across both rails does not exceed 700mA to avoid overheating.
