Miniature push-off switch with a normally closed (SPST-NC) contact and ON-(OFF) action: the circuit stays closed at rest and opens only while the button is pressed. Rated 1A / 250V AC, with solder leads, metal-and-plastic body and a prominent red round button.

Mounts in a Ø7mm panel hole and is rated for 50,000 cycles – suited to alarm and stop-button circuits, school electricity projects and control panels.

Mini Push-Off Switch 7mm 1A/250V Red

A push-off switch works the opposite way round to an ordinary push button: its contact is normally closed, so current flows while nobody touches it, and the circuit opens only for as long as the button is held down. This ON-(OFF) behaviour is exactly what a stop button, a reset interrupt or an alarm loop needs. The switch has a prominent round red actuator, a metal and plastic body of Ø9.2 x 27.5mm and mounts in a Ø7mm panel hole, standing 12mm above the panel.

Key features

  • SPST-NC contact – normally closed, opens on press
  • ON-(OFF) momentary action – returns to the closed state by itself
  • 1A / 250V AC rating with maximum contact resistance of 20mΩ
  • Ø7mm mounting hole, 12mm height above the panel
  • Solder leads for wires or PCB connection
  • 50,000 cycles of electrical service life
  • Operating temperature -25…70°C

Where it is used

  • Stop and interrupt buttons on models, machines and school projects
  • Alarm and continuity circuits, where breaking the loop is what triggers the response
  • Normally closed inputs in Arduino, ESP32 and Raspberry Pi circuits at low DC voltages
  • Control panels and front panels where a compact button is needed

Which push button to choose

Product Rest state On press
Mini Push-Off Switch 7mm Red (this product) Closed (NC) Opens the circuit
Mini Push-Off Switch 7mm Black Closed (NC) Opens the circuit
Push-On Miniature Switch Open (NO) Closes the circuit
Square Push-On Switch 12mm Open (NO) Closes the circuit
Push Button ON-OFF Latching Stays on until pressed again
Tip: a normally closed button is the safe choice for a stop function. If the wire breaks or a connection comes loose the circuit opens by itself, exactly as if the button had been pressed, so the fault stops the machine instead of hiding.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference from an ordinary push button?
This one is the reverse. A normal push-on button is open at rest and closes when pressed; this one is closed at rest and opens when pressed. For the usual behaviour choose the Push-On Miniature Switch.

Can I read it with an Arduino?
Yes. Wire it as a normally closed input with INPUT_PULLUP or a pull-down resistor; the pin changes state while the button is held down.

What hole do I need to drill?
A Ø7mm hole; the body is Ø9.2 x 27.5mm and the button stands 12mm above the panel.
