Paper Circuits: Make Light-Up Greeting Cards with Copper Tape!

Are you looking for an original, creative, and educational activity? Paper Circuits are the perfect way to combine the art of crafting with the basic principles of electricity! What will you need?
The process is incredibly quick and easy. You can find all the necessary materials in our e-shop:
- Adhesive Copper Tape: The "wire" of our circuit. It's flexible and sticks just like regular tape!
- Card Sheets: Your canvas. Choose your favorite color for the base of the card.
- CR2032 Lithium Batteries: The power source that will bring your craft to life.
- 3mm LED Lights: Small, bright, and perfectly sized to fit inside your card.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: The Design
Take your card sheet and fold it in half like a classic greeting card. Draw your desired design on the front (e.g., a star, a robot, or a heart). Make a tiny hole with a pin where you want the LED light to shine through.
Step 2: The Circuit Layout
On the inside of the card, use a pencil to draw the path the copper tape will follow. You will need two lines: one for the positive (+) and one for the negative (-) terminal of the battery. Ensure one line ends at the bottom of where the battery will sit, and the other line connects to the top.
Step 3: Applying the Copper Tape
Stick the copper tape along the lines you drew. Tip: At the corners, don't cut the tape. Simply fold it over to ensure a continuous flow of electricity!

Step 4: Connecting the LED and Battery
Spread the "legs" of the LED. The longer leg is the positive (+) and the shorter one is the negative (-). Tape them down onto the respective copper lines using an extra small piece of copper tape. Place your CR2032 battery in position (with the + side facing up).
Step 5: The Switch!
Fold the corner of the card (where the circuit ends) so that when you press it, the copper tape touches the top of the battery, closing the circuit. Your light just turned on!
